CMT VIEWERS CAST OVER THREE MILLION VOTES
TO DETERMINE THE WINNERS FOR THE
"CMT FLAMEWORTHY 2003 VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS"

Winners of Country Music's Only Fan-Voted Awards Show
Announced April 7 on Live Telecast from Nashville

NASHVILLE - April 7, 2003 - The hottest country superstars and their sizzling music videos were named the winners of the CMT FLAMEWORTHY 2003 VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS, country music's only fan-voted awards show, telecast
live April 7 on CMT: Country Music Television. Over three million votes were cast on CMT.com, where fans could vote for their favorite videos in 11 categories. The final award of the evening, the "Flameworthy Video of the Year," was determined by viewer votes during the live telecast.

Hosted by Pamela Anderson and Toby Keith, the evening was full of surprises and show-stopping performances by Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith and Rascal Flatts. Surprise guests Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring
Jerry Douglas joined Shania Twain on stage for a remarkable performance of "Forever and For Always," and Darryl Worley surprised the audience with his performance of his mega-hit "Have You Forgotten," a multiple-week No. 1 song that is stirring emotions throughout the country.

A tribute to the incredible Johnny Cash brought the live audience to its feet. Vince Gill, who hosted the moving tribute, presented the Special Achievement Award to Country Music Hall of Fame member June Carter Cash,
accepting on behalf of her husband. A poignant video production honoring The Man In Black featured appearances by stars from across music genres including Bono, the Dixie Chicks, and Rosanne Cash.

Taking home 2003 Flameworthy trophies were:

FLAMEWORTHY BREAKTHROUGH VIDEO OF THE YEAR
Best video from an artist's major label debut album; Awarded to the artist (individual, group or duo)
* Joe Nichols - "Brokenheartsville"

FLAMEWORTHY FASHION PLATE VIDEO OF THE YEAR
Best dressed/styled artist in a video (individual, group or duo) * Tim McGraw - "She's My Kind of Rain"

FLAMEWORTHY CONCEPT VIDEO OF THE YEAR
Most creative concept that broadens the scope of the song's story; Awarded to the artist (individual, group or duo)
* Shania Twain - "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!"

FLAMEWORTHY HOTTEST FEMALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR
Sexiest video by a female artist; Awarded to the artist
* Faith Hill - "When The Lights Go Down"

FLAMEWORTHY HOTTEST MALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR
Sexiest video by a male artist; Awarded to the artist
* Tim McGraw - "She's My Kind of Rain"

FLAMEWORTHY VIDEO DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR
Video with the best direction (video that best captures the mood, tempo, and intensity of the song); Awarded to the video director for work on a specific video
* Deaton Flanigen - Martina McBride - "Concrete Angel"

FLAMEWORTHY COCKY VIDEO OF THE YEAR
Video with the most attitude; Awarded to the artist (individual, group or duo)
* Toby Keith - "Courtesy Of The Red, White, & Blue"

FLAMEWORTHY GROUP/DUO VIDEO OF THE YEAR
Best video by a group or duo; Awarded to the artist
* Rascal Flatts - "These Days"

FLAMEWORTHY FEMALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR
Best video by a female artist; Awarded to the artist
