The National Football League announced today that Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Brad Johnson has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week of November 3. Johnson, who returned to the starting lineup after missing a game against the Carolina Panthers with a left rib fracture, completed 24-of-31 passes for 313 yards with a career-high five TDs and no interceptions in Tampa Bays 38-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings. He finished with a quarterback rating of 148.3 and his five TD passes tied the club record held by Steve DeBerg vs. Atlanta (9/13/87). Johnson threw his 100th career TD pass, connecting with WR Karl Williams for a 15-yard score in the first quarter. He also threw a pair of scoring strikes to WR Keyshawn Johnson and connected on touchdown passes to TE Rickey Dudley and FB Mike Alstott. Johnsons performance marked the 10th time in his career that he has thrown for 300 or more yards in a game. Ranked third in the NFC in passing, Johnson has completed 169-of-270 passes (62.6%) for 1,857 yards with 12 TDs and just five INTs for a quarterback rating of 90.0. Johnsons
honor marks his fifth player of the week award and the third for a Buccaneer
this season. LB Derrick Brooks earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week
honors in Week 5 and K Martin Gramatica was named NFC Special Teams Player
of the Week for Week 8. It also marks the first time a Buccaneer player
has won the offensive player of the week award since RB Warrick Dunn earned
the distinction for his performance against the Dallas Cowboys on December
