IN "NFL BACKYARD BASICS" SPECIAL NOV. 16 ON CBS First Full-Length Animation Program Produced by NFL Films Get ready for something you have never seen before! Youths will learn the game of football from Philadelphia Eagles quarterback DONOVAN MCNABB - who appears in real life and as a cartoon character. NFL Backyard Basics: Football Tips from the Pros, a one-hour television show airing on CBS at 2 PM ET/PT on November 16, is the first-ever full-length program with animation produced by NFL Films. The Backyard Basics TV special combines recognizable animation from the educational Infogrames NFL Backyard Football video game and footage of real NFL stars. Animated and real characters learn how to pass, catch, run, kick and play defense with NFL stars. Each skill set is broken down and explained in a different football setting including sandlots, school fields, and city lots. Joining McNabb in the television special are Kansas City Chiefs tight end TONY GONZALEZ, San Diego Chargers defensive end MARCELLUS WILEY, Denver Broncos running back TERRELL DAVIS, and place-kicking brothers MARTIN and BILL GRAMATICA from the Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, respectively. In addition to its initial airing on CBS, the program will be replayed on the Nickelodeon Games and Sports channel (11/24 at 7 PM; 11/29 at 2 PM; 12/7 at 3 PM; 12/15 at Noon; 1/25 before Super Bowl XXXVII). Infogrames, Toys 'R' Us, and Wilson Sports are presenting sponsors of the TV special and will receive on air recognition. In addition
to the television show, an exclusive national promotion will take place
in all U.S. Toys 'R' Us locations. Beginning November 14, consumers purchasing
a NFL Backyard Football video game on GameBoy Advance or Game Cube from
Infogrames or any NFL Football from Wilson Sports will receive a free
copy of the television special on DVD.
